Click on one of the posters in my room to read about my experience at the show that night!
A lot of exciting things can happen at the Fillmore auditorium in San Francisco on any given night. One of my favorite things, however, only happens occasionally and, if it does, it happens AFTER the show. As the crowd shuffles down the stairs to street level, Fillmore staffers are waiting at the bottom with stacks of posters commemorating the evening. A colorful 14” x 20 “ piece of history on thick paper stock is handed to each attendee. The posters are not printed for every show at the Fillmore so getting one is exciting! I am not sure what determines whether a poster is made or not.
Regardless, I have been lucky enough to snag 13 of these posters over the years and safely get them home without too much damage. I saved them for a day when I could properly display them. I finally got them all framed and hung up in my music room (formally my daughter’s bedroom). My plan is to feature a post on each concert/poster. At this moment, just looking up at my wall, I know there are some concerts that I may not remember, for one reason or another. Also I notice that there are some incredible concerts I have witnessed at the Fillmore for which there is no poster. I will do them in chronological order and we will see what comes out of it all.
