Rockers Unplug and Raise $$ For Kid’s Cancer Benefit

This was one of those nights that I wish I could re-live. Join me as I do..  It was jam packed with amazing moments. Luckily, many of the 1100 people at the FIllmore had their phones out, recording the once-in-a-lifetime moments. Including me!

Guaranteed Fire Whenever Y & T Come Home

Being a local band, Y & T has some longtime fans in the Bay Area and any show in the area brings a good sized, veteran crowd.  Meniketti always says how happy he is to be home! The lovefest was in full bloom at the Fillmore. The setlist had all the bangers on it. It was a great night!

Praise and Passion: An Evening with Santana at the Fillmore

In a band like Santana, there are multiple drummers, multiple lead singers but only ONE lead guitarist. Of course, like everyone else in the place, I was mesmerized by Mr. Santana. His hands and fingers touch that fretboard ever so lightly and just the littlest bend in his finger elicits a wail from that instrument that sounds like a soaring eagle.

How The Steve Miller Band Kept On a Rockin’ Me BABY!

In 2008, during a quiet period without new studio albums, Steve Miller performed in San Francisco, joined by notable musicians like Al Jardine. There, inspired, he planned his cover album 'Bingo.' Remembering harmonica player Norton Buffalo, who died in 2009, and recounting buying a sitar-guitar in 1965, Miller's show was complemented by a Scrojo poster, capturing the concert's essence.

Space Cowboy Lands in SF

That’s where I stood with Steve Miller, he was a hitmaker with a sweet guitar sound. I think I learned a lot more about Mr. Miller on this night at the Fillmore. A new appreciation of the man as he worked through hits as well as wowing the crowd with his guitar work.

Pop Fan Receives the Gift Of Metallica

Metallica, formed in 1981, rapidly became a defining force in San Francisco's metal scene, frequently playing at iconic yet small venues like The Stone. The author recalls overlooking the band in favor of mainstream acts until a radio contest win to attend Metallica's 1999 collaboration with the San Francisco Symphony, an event that marked their shift from ignorance to fandom. This unique concert fused heavy metal with classical music, showcasing Metallica's versatility and igniting the author's lasting love for the band's powerful and emotive performances.
